installation includes a double slide projection on a semi-transparent white, 36-inch wide, acrylic dome, set in the window of the local camera store. In the context of the specific site, acrylic hemispheres functioned as photographic lens, capturing, transforming, and reflecting images on the shop walls and windows. In January 2013, Real Images was presented as an installation at SEED Space, the local Nashville contemporary art gallery. In the gallery context, I was able to expand on the size and display of acrylic domes, to create an environment, which further reflected on the idea of perception of images. Sound amplified, two slide projectors in the installation reminded viewers of the camera mechanism, in the dark painted walls of the space. In the review of the exhibition at the Nashville Scene, critic Joe Nolan writes: “Pavlović's installations are her most affecting and thought-provoking works: They examine her medium while literally walking viewers through her process... For Pavlović, these interactions put the viewer inside the slide projector or between the layers of a photographic image...”
